Anna Koak & Van Hoesen at Altman Siegel

On a beautiful spring day, I had the pleasure of attending the opening of an incredible gallery show featuring works by artists Koak and Van Hoesen at Altman Siegel in San Francisco. The exhibition was truly a sight to behold!

The two artists have distinct styles that complement each other well, creating an interesting dialogue between their work. Koak's pieces featured vibrant colors and bold shapes that captivated me from afar. His paintings seemed to be alive with energy and movement - it felt as if they could come off the wall at any moment! On the other hand, Van Hoesen's sculptures were more subdued yet still just as powerful; her use of natural materials gave her work a calming presence. Together, these two contrasting elements formed quite an impressive display.

Not only did I appreciate the artwork on view but also found myself impressed with how well-curated everything was. From the setup of the space to its lighting design, every detail was taken into account so that visitors would get a full experience while walking through this exhibit. It made for such an enjoyable visit - one that I will remember fondly for years to come!

Overall, this gallery show is definitely worth checking out if you're able to make it over before its closing date in April 2022 (which can't get here soon enough!). Don't miss your chance to take part in what is sure to be one of 2021's most memorable exhibitions!
